Managing & investigating appropriately women with history of cancer, either gynaecological or other, both as part of their regular gynaecological check or in the presence of symptoms is of utmost importance. It is a powerful tool in the hands of a gynaecologist with the right experience and expertise and closely related to Diagnostic Gynaecological Oncology as there are gynaecological malignancies which could be directly related to a woman’s both family and personal history of cancer. Investigating the history of malignancy, and monitoring women in high-risk groups, can have a major impact to the stage at diagnosis, radicality of treatment and overall prognosis.
